Urine Test Once Again, I Failed?

Urine Test Once Again, I Failed?

One of the most dreaded tests when I’m pregnant is this test, baka kasi bumagsak ako haha. Like when I was pregnant with JD, I’ve done so many urinalysis because the results were not desirable, read it here .

And today, on my 33rd week, I had my urine test again, done in Borough since it’s very close to my office, I can sneak a wee time to have this done. It costed me Php151, pero if I have my OB’s request, I can charge it in my healthcard, unfortunately, it was verbally advised to me lang ni Doc so I had no request with me.

Sadly, I did not get a desired result 🙁 unlike with my previous test, read it here, I think when I’m on my 22nd week, I had a nice result. See below, I have “MANY” epithelial cells, and Pus cells 3-6HPF, as far as I know, it should be 0-2HPF only.

Since my epithelial cells result is many, I did a research on what is the effect if my count is like that. And unfortunately again, it’s not nice to have that many count.

Epithelial cells in urine may be a cause for concern if the numbers are higher than normal. The sloughing of epithelia is quite a normal process of the body shedding dead cells and creating new ones. If epithelial cells are high in your urine it could signal a problem with your kidneys or an infection in your urinary system. Having some epithelial cells in urine is usually nothing to be worried about. Doctors attribute this to a specimen that was most likely contaminated from the outside of the urinary tract. However, a large amount of cells warrants a look under the microscope in the lab. They can tell where the cells are coming from and do further workup to find the problem. The ranges for epithelial cells are: few, moderate or many, but can also be measured in numbers. The normal range of epithelial cells in urine is less than 15-20 cells per high power field (HPF). – source: http://www.newhealthadvisor.com, featured photo is from that website too.

And with this, I’m saddened that I might also have a UTI. Wala kasi sa test result yung bacteria eh, to check if I have a UTI. I always drink a lot of water, more than a liter pa nga kasi nga I know that drinking less will give me problem, kaya I am now wondering bat ganun ka-undesirable ng urine test ko huhu. I’ll wait for my OB’s advice na lang din this coming Saturday, let’s see her comment.

Anyway, there are many tests pa naman to come as I approch my term, kaya no need to worry for me para di din ma-stress si baby ayt?

Kayo ba mga mamas what would you suggest in order to minimize this high, many result of urine test, any suggestions?

Update:

I had my appointment last Saturday and I thought that my urine test isn’t desirable. But wow, Doc said, there’s no problem daw and it’s normal. I have negative sugar and protein result and those are the important. Yey! Thank God! No more urine test for now 😉

Thanks a lot!
